Hello, my name is Jahnu David Best and this is my webpage all about Natural
Disasters.
Tornadoes, hurricanes, avalanches, tsunamis, volcanoes, and wildfires
are very dangerous. Lightning also can be dangerous.
Natural Disasters are something that destroy things.
Like tsunamis, they can wipe out anything they can reach.
Tsunamis come from underwater
earthquakes.
A
earthquake is when the ground shakes. Something else that
can be dangerous is a avalanche. One time, a avalanche slid down a
mountain in Yungay, Peru. Another
thing that is very dangerous is a volcano. There are two kinds of volcanoes. The
first one is lava. Kilauea (Ki-la-we-ya) in Hawai'i has lava. Kupaianaha
(Ku-pai-a-na-ha) also in Hawai'i had lava.
The next kind of volcano is smoke and ash. If
you mix smoke and ash together, you will see smoke clouds. Mount Saint Helens had smoke and ash mixed together.
Mount Saint Helens is in Washington State from this day. The eruption of Mount Vesuvius in
Pompeii, Italy, was similar to the eruption of Mount Saint Helens.
Other tornadoes are
like this. These
are not almost one mile long tornadoes. But, they are still dangerous.
What else is dangerous? Hurricanes!
They can rip off roofs, tear houses to pieces, so many dangerous things! Like
these. Hurricanes can
cover more than one state. For Example, Hurricane
Frances
in 2004 covered North Carolina, South
Carolina, and Virginia. It was huge!
It did a lot of damage. This is
what it did.
In order to have a hurricane or tornado you need to
have a severe thunderstorm. If it rains a lot, you could get a flood. Floods can
be dangerous. They can flood your house, make
you homeless, or
leave you alone. You don't know what a flood could
do.
This is my first website about Natural Disasters. It took a
long time. A useful thing about this website is that it tells you what a
hurricane can do, so that you make sure when you hear a hurricane warning, you
evacuate, what tsunamis (soo-na-mee) come from, and different kinds of volcanoes that happened.
I have a lot more websites now. Hundreds.
Just go to my page on Radharani.com and look at them there. I don't want
to have to list them all.
I just hope that you will like this website that I
have made.
